HWA GeoSciences Inc. performed a geotechnical engineering investigation to provide design and construction recommendations for a 3-story, 68,000 square-foot school building in Seattle, Washington. HWA performed a subsurface exploration program to evaluate soil conditions at the site and provided recommendations relating to earthwork, seismic considerations, and foundation and retaining wall design. Construction monitoring and consulting services were provided for all phases of earthwork and foundation related activities including 30,000 c.y. of site grading, installation of Geopier stone columns, temporary dewatering, fill pads, footings, retaining and basement wall fills, MSE walls, paving, drains and erosion control.
